Changes Already? FAIL.

Ok I don't really think I've "failed" my detox week because how can you cheat when you are altering your own rules? After a fair amount of research about detox diets, I decided to instead focus on a vegetarian diet during the day instead. I'm still going to eliminate refined sugar too and attempt to eat whole foods, nothing processed (which I hardly eat anyway). I have added two supplements to my life: vitamin D (which I take sporadically throughout the winter months anyway) and a colon health daily supplement. So this alleviates the pressure of going crazy with raw fruits and veggies - winter of course being the worst time to attempt such a diet. Also, eating vegetarian all day then a healthy dinner at night is actually a diet I might be able to stick with long term... so we'll see.

So here is today's plan:

Breakfast: homemade oatmeal with banana

Lunch: Open faced bruschetta melt (last night I made fresh whole wheat bread and you'd be crazy to think I won't be eating that today!)

Dinner: Wine and Tomato Braised Chicken which I'm eating over brown rice, instead of noodles.

In addition to my other lofty goals for the week, I'm going to add "one daily outdoor walk" to my plan. I do love to be outside. I find everything about nature to be absolutely beautiful. When I take my son outside, I am reminded of this because he is gasping, screeching, and pointing that things we jaded adults might otherwise take for granted. There really is so much beauty around and us and a walk around the property may help me remember this. In addition, it's a great way to add some extra vitamin D to my system!
